Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — As the Marinduque State University (MarSU) strengthens its international relations with various agencies and universities around the world, the International Relations Office takes another major step in fulfilling its role in partnership building for curriculum development and research opportunities by implementing its internationalization program and activities mechanisms.

For this year 2024, the Marinduque State University – College of Business and Accountancy headed by its Dean, Dr Verna Liza L. Capina will be hosting the National Agency for Academic Assessment and Accreditation (NAAAA) of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste for their visit to Marinduque State University on September 19-21, 2024 at MarSU, Tanza, Boac ,Marinduque to visit and discuss proposed areas of cooperation with NAAA and selected universities in East Timor.

Additionally, the NAAAA delegation is headed by its Executive Director, Dr. Nilton Diamantino Paiva Mau, Paulino Saldanha (Assistant Quality Assurance Officer), and Nuno Nascimento (Logistic Staff).

The agenda will include the establishment of a framework for international academic cooperation, curriculum development aligned with East Timor Higher Educational Standards, and faculty development aligned with East Timor qualification standards.

The scheduled activities for the visit include the courtesy call to the Office of the University President, welcome program at the University Audio-Visual Room, Campus Tour at the Main Campus, lunch at the President’s Conference Room, discussion of the Memorandum of Agreement between the NAAA selected universities in East Timor, and tour at the town proper.

For the second day of the visit, the continuation of University Campus Tour will be held in close coordination with the Campus Directors of Gasan, Torrijos, and Sta. Cruz. The last day of the visit will be the visitation to adopted barangays and cooperators of various extension projects of the College of Business and Accountancy.

The recent transition to university status is truly enabling MarSU to expand its academic offerings, enhance research opportunities, and strengthen our impact on the local and global communities.

The NAAAA presence will signify the collaborative spirit and shared dedication to shaping a wider and stronger international relations for MarSU as we continuously elevate the quality of education in the province of Marinduque.
