Quezon City, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) is once again leading efforts to promote education and literacy in the local community. In a significant collaboration with the National Book Development Board (NBDB), the university received a booster package containing 100 books for the Book Nook Marinduque on November 20, 2024 at the National Book Development Board (NBDB), Fairview, Quezon City. This donation is poised to impact the university’s ongoing mission to foster a culture of reading and learning.
The NBDB expressed its confidence in the Marinduque community, stating on their official page, “Naniniwala po kami na magiging mas masigla pa ang pagbabasa sa inyong komunidad sa pagdating ng mga libro na ito.” This message reflects the NBDB’s belief in the positive influence these books will have in encouraging greater reading habits among residents.
The university is committed to serving the community and expanding access to educational resources. With the newly acquired books, MarSU is determined to enhance the Book Nook Marinduque initiative and encourage the local population to engage in reading. Through this project, the university aims to make books more accessible, especially in areas where literacy support is essential.
As part of this effort, Mr. John Ray B. Mullanida, a representative from the Office of the University President, visited the NBDB office to personally collect the booster package of 100 books. This act is symbolic of MarSU’s proactive approach to improving literacy and learning opportunities in the region.
Through the combined efforts of the NBDB and MarSU, the Book Nook Marinduque is set to become an even more vibrant resource for the local community. The university is dedicated to making the most of this donation, ensuring that the books will serve as valuable tools for personal growth, education, and community development.
By continuing to promote reading and literacy, Marinduque State University not only upholds its educational mission but also strengthens its role as a key partner in building a brighter future for the Marinduque community. With this support from the NBDB, the university is one step closer to creating a more literate and informed community.
