Quezon City, Philippines — Mr. Ronnel Nolos, CES faculty member, is one of 30 participants from across the Philippines who recently completed the 5-day Training Course on Downstream Data Utilization organized by the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA). The course was held from November 25-29, 2024, at The Oracle Hotel & Residences in Quezon City.

It provided participants with essential knowledge and skills for conducting research related to remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the utilization of satellite data. At the conclusion of the training, participants submitted and presented research proposals that incorporated satellite data.

This pilot training course is part of PhilSA’s Space Education and Awareness Program, which aims to enhance public awareness and understanding of space science and technology applications (SSTA). The program provides professionals, educators, and students with valuable opportunities to engage in the field of space science and technology.

Mr. Nolos expressed his gratitude for the opportunity provided by PhilSA and Marinduque State University, which helped further enhance his knowledge in this growing field.
