Quezon City, Philippines — In the continuous pursuit of human resource excellence gearing towards PRIME Maturity Level III, the Marinduque State University led by its President, Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta conducted the Shaping HR’s Tomorrow for a Future Ready MarSU: Seminar Workshop on Competency-Based Human Resource Management System scheduled on December 10-11, 2024 at the Microtel Acropolis Hotel, Quezon City. The activity was organized by the MarSU HRMU led by Ms. Erma E. Reyes (Supervising Administrative Officer & HRMU Head) together with HRMU task force led by Ms. Portia P. Orlina (HRD Section Head).
Ms. Portia P. Orlina (Section Head, HRD) introduced the participants followed by the words of welcome from the University President, Prof. Zulueta who emphasized the importance of being a competitive employee where MarSU has gone so far in terms of accreditation and other measures of excellence in the country. He encouraged everyone to strive more for the greater excellence of MarSU HRM.
Additionally, Ms. Erma E. Reyes (Supervising Administrative Officer/HRMU Head) introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Emmanuel de Guia (Resident Futurist, Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, Innovation & Futures Thinking) who gave his words of inspiration and brief lecture focusing on the Futures Thinking strategies with situation, enterprise, and self masteries that would provide us the ability to respond and gauge the culture of excellence as we fully integrate the futures thinking strategies in the academic setting.
After the stimulating opening lecture with Mr. De Guia, Ms. Blanchie Nieva introduced the training facilitator, Dir. Jacinto C. Mateo III (Director, Civil Service Commission FO Marinduque) who provided the overview of the Competency Based HRM.
Ms. Nieva also introduced the Learning Service Provider for the seminar proper, Ms. Mariegrace B. Asuncion (Acting Chief HR Specialist, PSED, CSC RO4) who discussed the Competency-Based Human Resource Management System who centered her discussion in the rationale and benefit of CBHRMS from the organizational anchors, functional charts and strategy map to ensure the alignment of the competencies with the overall organization direction, operation and administration. She also guided the MarSU participants in the competency framework which shall serve as a blueprint of the holistic development of CBHRMS aligned with the direction of CSC.
The activity was comprised of 23 administrative personnel from all the MarSU Campuses including MarSU key officials graced by PDPZ and Asst. Prof. Raoul J. Magcamit (Vice President for Academic Affairs) with Mr. Nowell P. Maac as the program host. The group is also scheduled to conduct a learning visit to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on December 12, 2024 which is a recent recipient of PRIME HRM Level III.
