Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — To officially commence the implementation of the project, the signing of Contract Agreement for the Joint venture of Net Pacific Inc. and Lancaster Technology and Development Corporation was held at the Board Room, MarSU Boac Campus on September 4, 2024. The award of contract was approved by the Board of Regents on August 22, 2024 with MarSU BOR Res. No. 7, s. 2024.

As a background, MarSU was granted the 1.7 billion under the GAA 2024 for the ICT Center of Excellence Transformation Program through the guidance and support of Hon. Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco-Representative, Lone District of Marinduque. This ICT Modernization Project is a major step forward to continuously development its ICT environment by adding more tools that will support end-users in achieving the digital environment for seamless delivery of services and operations. Additionally, the project will support and enhance the previous project by adding productivity tools and IT equipment together with improvement of existing infrastructure.

The implementation of the project is in accordance with the ISSP of MarSU for 2024-2026 approved by the DICT and is composed of 21 components such as document management sytem, asset management system, library management system, campus collaboration solution, professional development tools and productivity, e-Classrooms, e-Laboratory, modular classroom customization, smart agriculture, smart aquaculture, drones, campus network expansion with auto-roaming wifi, fiber channel backbone expansion, security operations center, automated turnstile with RFIF, mini digital auditorium/theater, indoor and outdoor LED Wall display, reliable internet connectivity, sustainable lighting system, power supply system upgrade, and other IT infrastructure, ancillaries and supplements. In addition, the progress of the project shall be tracked through the five milestones such as Project Kick-off, software delivery, hardware delivery, installation and configuration, training schedule & turnover of training documents, until its project completion.

Arlyn Retardo-Legal Officer, Mr. Julie P. Rodelas-Campus Director, Mr. Wilbert Benedictor-ICTSC Director, Ms. Maria Morena V. Santos-University & Board Secretary, Ms. Shirley Sigue-BAC Secretariat Head, Ms. Arcenette de Galicia-Procurement Unit Head, and Ms. Joie Rocha-Procurement personnel.

Ms. Courtney Love P. Dela Paz-Government Relations and External Affairs Officer represented the contracting party together with Ms. Karen Lim-Government Relations and External Affairs Officer as witness.

As stipulated in the agreement, the supplier is expected to deliver and implement the project within 340 calendar days.

The Marinduque State University is truly blessed and grateful to His Excellency, our President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and legislators both in the House of Representatives and the Senate who affirmed their support and commitment to investing in the future of technology education for Marinduqueňos.
