Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — To continuously strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship, the Marinduque State University (MarSU) and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) through its Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation have officially entered into a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) project on November 20, 2024 at MarSU OP Conference Room, Boac, Marinduque.
As stipulated in the MOA, DMMMSU shall provide mentorship activities on TBI through DMMSU ATBI and assist MarSU with ATBI-related services.
In his address, Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta (MarSU President) emphasized the importance of the TBI project in bridging the gap between academia and industry. “This partnership with DMMMSU is a testament to our shared vision of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship where we already have initiatives but needs to be reinforced through this kind of collaboration. Through the TBI project, we aim to provide essential resources and support to our students and local entrepreneurs, enabling them to transform their ideas into successful business ventures,” he said.
On the other hand, DMMMSU team led by Dr. Angelina T. Gonzales (Vice President for Research, Development & Innovation), expressed their appreciation to MarSU administration for the warm hospitality and signified their support to MarSU as one of their partners in TBI initiatives in the country. They also gave their bangus flagship products to PDPZ and MarSU community as a token of appreciation.
The MOA signing was also graced with the presence of Dr. Alexander M. Pascua (MarSU FTBIIC Project Leader), Mr. Jovito L. Opena (MarSU Gasan Campus Director), Mr. Wilfredo Q. Villavicencio, and Ms. Aireen M. Sumibcay from the MarSU Gasan Campus. Also present was Asso. Prof. Alfredo M. Ofrecio (Director, Financial Services/PMS Chief).
Additionally, the DMMMSU delegation were composed of Ms. Eden Borce (DATBI Project Manager), Ms. Ivory Laroco, Ms. Erlinda Balancu, Mr. Jovani Tadije, Mr. Rafael Benabese, and Mr. Hector Fontanilla Jr.
This strategic collaboration for the ongoing endeavor of MarSU Gasan Campus with DA-ACEF to establish the MarSU Fishery Technology Business Incubation and Innovation Center (MarSU FTBIIC) are expected to yield significant benefits, including enhanced research capabilities, and greater opportunities for student and faculty engagement in TBI activities.
