Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines — The Marinduque State College administration immersed in a national commitment to Open Government National Advocacy Campaign, strengthening public participation in Palawan on May 15, 2024.

The MSC delegate was headed by the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS) and the College Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) Mr. Marvin P. Plata, accompanied by the Executive Assistant, Ms. Leni Rodriguez and Ms. Joan C. Ocampo the Head for International/Foreign Student Services of OVPSAS and CAHS College Secretary. Accompanied by the MSC student leaders including Mr. Genroj Louise Laguna, Ms. Mikka Jane Postrado, Ms. Jean Marianne Linga, Mr. Christonn John Lineses, Mr. John Deiniel Ornedo, and Mr. Quiel Anthony Mangcoy.

The OGPinas commitment was in collaboration with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). The initiative aims to uphold the open government partnership values of transparency, accountability, citizen engagement, and strengthening governance through technology. With this, the program was attended by the Local Government Unit representatives, Civil Society Organization, private and public University/College administrators, and student leaders across the MIMAROPA region.

Different public and private sectors and organizations share their commitment to the principles and values of OGPinas initiative by presenting what they offer to the public, accomplishments, and future initiatives. One of the highlights was from the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE). Also, the Justice Zones Project and Enhanced Legal Aid of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, discussed by Atty. Amabel Africa. The 6th PH-OGPinas National Action Plan was presented by Assistant Secretary Rolando Toledo, DBM PH-OGP.

The focal person of each sector and organizations collaborate in the program stage to have an open chair discussion. The program was continued by a message from the chairperson and pledge to open governance, DBM Secretary, Amenah F. Pangandaman.

The whole program ended with a pictorial of each sector and organization and shared partnership to foster dialogue and public development through open governance.
