UP Film Institute’s Prof. Carlos Pangilinan, De La Salle University’s Prof. Rica Arevalo, and award-winning Film Director Paolo Villaluna: these were the luminaries that delivered what was to be the very first of a series of film workshops ever held in the island. The workshops targeted faculty and students from within and without the college.

Participants were taught the rudiments of film language and basic tools for criticism as well as some fundamentals of movie-making. Just like the title of the event, the workshop seeks to educate people on the more profound discourse of film with the view to help nurture intelligent film goers and film makers. The endeavour was made possible by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
